ELIGIBILITY
Beatrice Smith Lewis Scholarship
The Beatrice S. Lewis Board of Directors evaluates applications based on:

Must be a graduating senior (Class of 2022) attending high school in Southwest Georgia and Southeast Georgia.

See qualifying high schools in these counties:
-
Atkinson, Bacon, Ben Hill, Coffee, Berrian, Irwin, Jeff Davis, and Telfair County

Baker, Calhoun, Dougherty, Lee, Mitchell, Terrell, Sumter, and Worth County

A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or 80+ Average (Unofficial Transcript with school’s seal that you can download from Infinite Campus and upload to application)
-
One Letter of Recommendation (Academic, Job Employer, or Community Service)

One Letter of Recommendation is required and will be accepted; not two; not three
-
The letter must be written on letterhead, along with a signature, date, and contact information from the recommender.

30 hours of Volunteer/Community Involvement
-
Must be provided on a letterhead by the organization, signed, and dated with a seal.

College Acceptance Letter

Proof of acceptance letter (screenshot of the email, certificate, or physical copy of the letter will be acceptable to upload).

Essay requirement

12 point font, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 300-500 words; (please do not exceed this word count)

Essay topic: As humans across the globe continue to face adversity with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, how has this pandemic impacted your vision for the future, both from an academic and personal perspective?
